DOI
Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
A DOI number is a unique alphanumeric character string used to identify an electronic document and provide a persistant link to the document's location on the internet. When an article is published,the International DOI Foundation will assign a DOI number to the article. DOIs are typically located on the first page of an electronic journal article, and can also be found on the article citation page in a research database.
