Want to know more about sustainability? The library is a great place to start when you want to learn about a new subject for your own interest or for classes. We have basic information in the form of reference resources (more reliable than some of the stuff you find on google), books and articles that get more into detail, and best of all librarians that can help you navigate all of the resources. Sustainability at USF St. Petersburg

Sustainability is important at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus. Below you can read about opportunities for students to get involved as well as ongoing sustainability projects happening on campus. 

Sustainability at Nelson Poynter Memorial Library

Sustainability initiatives at the library include:

  • Water Refill Stations on all three floors
  • Furniture made from recycled materials
  • Rooftop habitat for endangered Least Tern birds
  • Textbook affordability project to save money and materials
  • Deselected books donated to better world books for rehoming
  • TPO "cool" roof installed in 2018
