From the age of 3 they have been convinced that their mental health was just an afterthought. They aim to dispute the myth that “[mental illness] is a White people thing” and want to speak up for the little black girls and boys who are burdened with the stigmas of mental illness.

Their desire to make the world a better place is greater than the obstacles that they’ve had to overcome. Understanding how their blackness and their pansexuality intersect started them on a journey of moving past self-hate to self-love and acceptance. 

Who is this white woman walking down the street wearing a turban holding hands with another woman? If you are brave enough to ask she is brave enough to tell you.

When the world thinks you're one thing, and you contradict that, it becomes a problem for them - and then they make it a problem for you. They are trans. They are a parent. They are a lesbian. 

As someone who was labeled "Learning Disabled" as a child, is hearing impaired, and has be given a tentative Autism diagnosis, they have experienced prejudice through educators and employers alike. They are now a parent of two children on the Autism Spectrum and have seen that intolerance spill over into their lives as well. 

In a time when so many ancient traditions are lost there are some that have the knowledge to keep them alive so that they do not disappear forever.

Growing up on the South side of Saint Petersburg, from humble beginnings. He joined the Navy right after high school and now has returned to my hometown to go to college and join local politics.

Being a first generation student, they had the pressure to set the standards for their family and their future children. They didn't anticipate, however, the real world and its challenges.
