In the aftermath of a disaster, students and faculty may lose important instructional time. USFSP is committed to fulfilling its educational responsibilities to its students. To achieve this obligation, faculty may use a variety of instructional approaches to ensure students receive relevant content and coursework necessary for meeting their respective course student learning outcomes. These approaches may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Extending due dates and rescheduling of assessments
- Trimming future content that does not directly impact student learning outcomes
- Accompanying face-to-face content with supplemental online assignments and materials, etc.
For those students who will be given additional out-of-class assignments, we hope that you actively engage in these educational opportunities relevant to your course learning objectives. Becoming independent, self-directed learners is an inherent part of college success, and in these demanding times following Hurricane Irma now is the prime opportunity to practice resilience and grit. Student Technology Center, located within the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library
- An academic computing helpdesk where students can get information and assistance with course-related software, such as Canvas and Proctorio.
- The Training room is a collaborative space for peer learning and knowledge sharing related to academic software applications.
- The Digital Makerspace is a dedicated room where students can create video content and projects with Adobe Creative Cloud.
